Golf

Florida is known of its year round golf.  In south Florida there are numerous public courses and plenty of private courses that can be joined.  Many communities have golf equities (required membership) as part of their homeownership.  If you live in Florida, we call the golf "season" May 1 through October 31, as that is when the prices are reasonable and the courses are not crowded.  November 1 through April 30th is snowbird season and this is when the seasonal visitors and normal tourists visit us.  Rates for golf almost double their off-season rates and courses become more crowded.

TENNIS

While not as popular as golf, tennis can be played year round here too.  Because it is a much more active game then golf, you have to be more cautious in the summertime when the weather is significantly warmer.  Many communities have their own tennis courts which are primarily for the residents of the community.  You may have to join a club in order to get tennis privileges in some places.

FISHING/BOATING

These are two other year round sports in south Florida.  While it's more popular to fish in the cooler months, people do fish here all year round.  We afford you the opportunity to go deep sea fishing, lake fishing, or just toss a line into a canal to see what you can get.  Boating is an all year round activity whether on a canal, lake, deep water intercoastal or the ocean, you are only limited by the size boat you can afford to keep and maintain.  In Florida boats run from dingy size to super yacht size.  If you are a boater or fisherman, you will love the annual boat shows we have here in south Florida.

BOWLING

If you enjoy bowling, we have several bowling alleys to accommodate your need to bowl.  Most, if not all, bowling alleys have leagues for you to join.  No matter where you live in south Florida, there will be a bowling center not too far way.
